Tournament General Information
2009 Junior Legion District 5 Tournament will be structured the same as previous years .
There are 11 teams, 9 of which are participating.
Junior Legion Tournament rules will apply to all games . . . League rules are done.
Teams 1-6 will automatically be qualified for the 8-team double elimination tournament which starts Wednesday July 15 at (10:00am, 1:00pm, 4:00pm and 7:00pm).
The $350 Tournament fee has already been paid, since it was part of league fee.
Each team will supply 4 new baseballs to the umpire at the beginning of each game . . . Understanding that if they get used up, each team will supply one each as requested by the umpire.
Tuesday thru Sunday games will be at Laurel Creek Park in Fairfield (Yarbrough Field).
Parents & fans-there is a gate fee of $5 ADULT and $3 for UNDER 12 (per day). There will be a $10 Adult Tournament pass & UNDER 12 Tournament Pass at $6 available for all games and/or every day (Tuesday thru Sunday). The tournament passes are the cheapest way to go. The entire tournament will be under the daily fee, unless you have a Tournament Pass. There won't be any clearing the stadium for the championship game .
IMPORTANT: As of this moment . . . Every team is on notice: You must supply your current record and scores of all games to our web master <email@example.com> and me firstname.lastname@example.org so it can be posted on our web-site www.fairfieldexpos.com (This must be done immediately after every game from now to the end of the season) Failure to submit your record on a daily basis will result in our best judgment as to where to place your team for the post season tournament, which could be in the single elimination game Tuesday, even though your actual record would have put you into the double elimination portion automatically. We cannot be tracking people down for their record . . . An inaccurate record will result in your team automatically dropping to the tenth seeding position, thus playing Tuesday, so make sure your record is accurate.
The winner will advance to the Sacramento area for the AREA 1 Tournament starting Wednesday July 22.
The fee for that tournament ($350) will be paid by FEBA, so the winner will only have to supply baseballs. Of course they will have to handle their own expenses for food, lodging and transportation.
